 Welcome to another weeks Attraction Marketing Newsletter.
Can you believe it is February already? Damn ... it was a HOT week in
Melbourne last week. Three straight days over 43 degrees (thats over
110 F). Fortunately I was able to stay in the office in airconditioning
for most of the week ... at least until they cut the power :)
Despite the heat it was a busy week for us at Profit Minute. We officially launched the Mega Networking & Referral Event
with tickets going on sale last Wednesday. At the time of writing this
we only have 1 VIP ticket left so it is safe to say that the VIP
tickets will sell out in the next 24 hours.

In this weeks
article I want to talk about a concept I learnt from Eban Pagan at the
Information Marketing Summit I recently attended. Eban is a man I
greatly admire having built a business doing $20 million dollars a year
with only virtual staff. The concept I learnt from Eban was about
moving the free line. I am sure you will enjoy the article.

Moving The Free Line ...
Do you want to know the fastest way to make yourself ATTRACTIVE in the market place?
It's all about moving the FREE line. Think back 10 years when websites
for small business owners were in their infancy. It seemed like
everyone was offering a free newsletter from their website ... and back
then that worked to attract people into your database.
 Today
simply offering a newsletter will not attract many prospective clients
to you. Why? Because most of us are already subscribed to 101 different
email newsletters and we only read 3 of them.
In the last 3 to 5 years the amount of overwhelm people are feeling from marketing messages has quadrupled.
It is harder than ever to get the ATTENTION of your target market ... and a simple free email newsletter has little impact.
So what should you do then to ATTRACT prospective clients into your database?
Recently while attending the Information Marketing Summit in St Louis I
had the good fortune to listen into Eban Pagans presentation. He talked
about this very issue and suggested the key to marketing in the future
is to MOVE THE FREE LINE.
What he was referring to is providing a lot more VALUE FOR FREE to ATTRACT people into your marketing funnel. He
made the point that just providing something like a free newsletter was
unlikely to gain you the penetration into your marketplace that you
need.
To get their ATTENTION today you must move the free line and provide
even more value. There are many ways you can do this but let me share
with you just a few:
* Start Your Own Radio Show
- One of the best ways to position yourself as an expert and therefore
make yourself attractive is to host your own radio show. Have a
scheduled time each week were you talk about different aspects of what
you do, current afairs and news in your industry, and provide valuable
helpful information for your target market. You can start your own
radio show for free at www.BlogTalkRadio.com
* FREE CD -
You may have noticed recently that we shifted from giving away a pdf
report and mp3 files to giving away a free audio CD. Why did we do
this? Its simple ... a physical CD has a higher perceived value. As a
direct result of this we have ATTRACTED a lot more people into our
marketing funnel. There is a cost involved in doing this of course,
however with a well thought out marketing strategy you can easily
monetise this cost.
* Webinars - Technology
today allows you to host an online seminar known as a webinar. This
allows people to log in online from the comfort of their homes and take
part in an online seminar. The great thing about these is that you can
create a stronger relationship with your prospective clients, give them
real value in the form of a seminar, and lead them to want to do
business with you. There are many service providing webinar systems
such as www.GoToMeeting.com
* Preview Seminars
- One of the best ways I have found to move the free line is to hold
preview evening seminars. During these 90 minute presentations my goal
is to provide as much valuable content as I possibly can to those who
attend. Invariably I always attract new prospects into my marketing
funnel and find new coaching and consulting clients. The key here is to
provide a lot of value to those taking the time to attend.
* Tools & Resources
- Another great way to extend the free line is to provide tools that
can assist your prospective clients. For example ... we are about to
release our Business Growth Accelerator tool which is an excel
spreadsheet that allows any small business to see what they must go to
work on to double or triple their revenue. This is an extremly valuable
tool and we are going to be giving it away for free. What tools could
you develop in your business?
These are just some of the ways to move the free line in your business.
I am sure you can think of many others and even specific applications
for your business.
One thing is certain ... the more you move the free line in favour of
your prospective clients the more they will bond with you and feel
compelled to want to work with you. If you can demonstrate real value
then this will give your prospective clients greater confidence in
saying YES to work with you.
