Another busy week here at Profit Minute.

The Power Of Saying Thanks ...

As a young man new to the Real Estate industry I sat in awe of Tommy Hopkins, author of 'How To Master The Art Of Selling'. Tom was a leading sales trainer and one of the most successful Real Estate agents of all time.

He was sharing the secrets to his success. I was taking notes big time :)

Then he shared something that changed my life. He talked about the power of simply saying thanks ... of expressing your gratitude to someone else. He explained how so few people said thanks in a meaningful way and how if you just did so it would seperate you from the majority of people out there.

The key to Tom Hopkins success as he explained it was through giving thanks by sending hand written thank you cards.

Every day Tom would write out a minimum of 5 hand written thank you cards and send them to his customers and clients, to people in his contacts, to family and friends. He stated that as a result of this habit over time the more gratitude and thanks he gave out the more flowed back to him in untold ways in the forms of repeat customers, referrals and more.

Years later I read about the worlds leading car salesman who built a massive referral business simply because he used the power of Tom Hopkins suggestion and began the daily habit of sending thank you cards to people. The cards were sent without a sales message ... just a heartfelt expression of thanks. The impact this made on the receiver of these cards meant this gentleman was never forgotten and always referred.

This is what I call TOMA or Top Of Mind Awareness. It is critical that you have a stragey to acuiqre TOMA with your prospective customers in order to attract more clients.

After attending the Tom Hopkins seminar I went away and started the process of sending cards. The problem was back then I was not able to create the habit of sending hand written cards and so I quickly stopped doing it. In fact the only time I would send cards was in the lead up to Christmas were I would hand wite several hundred cards to be sent out.

Twenty years later I was introduced to a system known as Send Out Cards and having researched it believe it is possibly the most powerful tool for marketing a small business I have come across.

Why?

Well Send Out Cards is an online system that allows you to create a Thank You card in your own handwriting, with your own signature, with your own personalised photos, and have it printed, placed in an envelope and mailed .... automatically. It takes less than a couple of minutes and costs less than a $1 USD per card.

In addition the system also allows you to manage all of your contacts, customers etc into different groups, and create automated marketing campaigns that are drip fed over a period of time. This way you can keep in contact and fully automate the process.

Here is why I now recommend Send Out Cards to all of my coaching and consulting clients ... it allows you to create TOMA without constantly trying to sell your products or services. This will seperate you from your competition because they are all out their constantly trying to sell sell sell.
