Welcome To Another Weeks Attraction Marketing Newsletter.
This
week I have been having a number of conversations with business owners
about their marketing. It seems that most small business owners
recognise that they need to have effective marketing systems in place
but they do not want to invest their time into mastering the marketing
process.
So I have written an article on the need to master your marketing. My
belief is that your ability to market your business will directly
determine your success in the business. Why would you not want to
master this critical area?
Things are in motion now as we prepare for the launch of the next Mega Networking & Referral Event.
We will be making a number of changes to the event based on feedback
from the first event. The plan is to pre-release VIP tickets at a
discount to those who attended the first event. This will take place on
June 1st. Then the main marketing and the rest of the tickets for the
event will be available from 1st of July. So please put those dates in
your calendar if you are planning on coming along.
I have been busy
this week working on the launch of a new project with Ludwina
Dautovic from The Red Tent Woman. Its a program designed to show you
how to step into the flow of anbundance in your business. We will be
drawing on Ludiwna's experience as she has built a succesful business.

Mastering The Marketing Of Your Business
Marketing is the key to success in your business.
You can have a brilliant product, or be brilliant at delivering the
service you provide ... but if no one knows about it then you will not
achieve the success in business that you could have.
For many small business owners this presents a problem. They are
usually more than happy to focus on the product or service they
provide. In fact for most people in micro to small business it is their
passion for their product or service that led them into business in the
first place. So they invest large amounts of time, money and other
resources in the development of their product or service.
The challenge is that having a better product or service is not the way
to make money in business. The only time you make money is small
business is when you are at what Brendan Nichols calls the 'Nexus
Point'. The Nexus Point is where a prospective qualified client is in
contact with some form of marketing that has the ability to lead them
to say YES and exchange their money for your product or service.
Marketing is clearly the key element to your success in business!
Most small business owners though typically do not like to think about
marketing. When things are going along okay and they are getting a few
referrals any thoughts of marketing take a back seat. Its when the
economy tightens and clients are harder to come by that we start to
think about marketing.
The tendency for many small business owners though is to want to find
someone else to take care of their marketing ... rather than having to
master it themselves. Personally I think this is a huge mistake. As a
micro to small business owner I believe you must develop a level of
mastery for your business. In doing so you can truly right your own
cheques and achieve the level of success you desire.
So how do you go about the process of mastering your marketing?
I know it can be challenging when you are busy running a small business
to find the time to learn about marketing, develop marketing plans,
implement new strategies and try all over again. Finding the time
though is simply a question of priority. My belief is that you must make the mastery of marketing in your business a priority in the next few years.
Here is where you should start:
1/ Take A Marketing Audit
- Before you develop new marketing plans and implement new marketing
strategies it is important that you stop and assess the current
situation. You want to spend some time conducting a review or audit of
your current marketing efforts and the impact they are having on your
business. Schedule a marketing audit here
2/ Develop A New Marketing Plan
- When I conduct my Attraction Marketing Seminars across the country I
always ask the question ... 'Who has a documented Marketing Plan?'.
Less than 5% of the people attending the seminars have a plan. So the
next step for you is to develop a marketing plan that gives you a new
strategic direction for your marketing, establishes some meaningful
objectives and gives you a point of focus. (Ask me about the one page

3/ Study Marketing
- If you are to master the marketing in your business then you will
need to invest some time studying marketing. If you were to invest just
half an hour each day then within three months you would have more
knowledge about how to effectively market your business than your
competitors. This will put you into a great position to begin to move
your business forward with effective marketing. Start studying marketing here
4/ Brainstorming Sessions
- To improve your marketing you need to spend time actively thinking
about new ideas. Schedule time in your week for both a group
brainstorming session and for personal brainstorming sessions. The
group sessions can be conducted with your key staff, business partners
or JV partners. Make this a weekly sessions for one hour where you just
write down pages and pages of ideas on how to market your business
better. Don't prejudge any ideas just write them all down for
evaluation at a later time. You will be amazed at what happens. On a
personal level you need to schedule time to think about the marketing
of your business. At least three times a week I walk down to my
favourite coffee shop with notebook in hand and spend an hour or two
thinking about and planning my business and marketing.
5/ Find A Mentor -
No matter how good you become at marketing there is still one problem
... we tend to be to close to our business and sometimes we can not
clearly see what needs to be done to move our business to new levels of
success. Finding a good mentor who understands marketing can make a
huge difference and help shift your perception in your business.
The challenge for you is to place a higher priority on the marketing of
your business. Schedule time into your calendar each week for the
mastery of your marketing. Within a few months you could put in place
an effective marketing system that is attracting to you more clients
than you can handle.
